Why
Go Local?
It may seem easier to go a big out of town supermarket, but how
much easier to visit the 'supermarket on your doorstep, namely
your local shops where you will find fresh local produce on sale,
in more pleasant surroundings.
You
will save time and money on fuel bills, while taking the time
to shop in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere only small shops can
provide.
You
will also benefit from the shopkeepers professional expertise.

|
|
To Cut Food Miles
When
you buy local produce, less fuel is needed to get it to you, not
only saving on greenhouse gas emissions and traffic congestion,
but also making it fresher when you buy it.
To Help The local Economy
When
you decide to buy local produce you will help to keep, the money
you spend in local pockets. This helps support and promote a healthy
local economy which will in turn help to boost employment in the
area.
|
For peace of mind
There
are so many health scares surrounding cheap imported food that,
as a consumer, it's good to know the food you are buying is produced
under proper conditions.
By asking for local produce you can have confidence that this
is so as it's source is easily traced - just ask the shopkeeper.

How Local Is Local?
For
the purpose of the Get Fresh, Go Local scheme, anything grown
or produced within a 35 radius of Camelford.
In the case of locally made goods including pasties, bread, cakes
and preserves, ingredients are sourced locally where possible.
